Gahdening 108 - or Bugs Bunny ???
So, I was out in the garden the other day.... doing what all gardeners do..... actually I hadn't made it to the garden yet this day.... what I WAS doing was dodging land mines left by faithful cling-on... uh, companion, Snoopy... can't he just dump in the same spot all the time ?!?!? ... I DO !!!! well, most of the time at least....
Anyway, the "journey" across the yard was more like a touchdown run ("I played HS football" - thanks for that line Al Bundy!!!) - how does a 25 pound beagle [crap] more than I do !?!?!?! - AND the grass needed to be mowed.... so, I decided perhaps it just MAY be time to scoop up some of Snoopy's "remains".... you know what I mean...
After scooping and flinging a few "piles" ... (he does some type of "do do dance" while he's doing his "duty") ... into the bamboo forest... I wonder if THAT's why the bamboo grows rampant - it's WELL fertilized !!! - maybe I should toss it in the garden... I approached yet ANOTHER mine to be detonated....
WOOOOOOEEEEE !!!!!!!!! WAIT A COTTON(tail) PICKIN MINUTE !!!!! THAT's not a Snoopy poopy !!! I know what THAT is...... it's.... it's.... RABBIT "PELLETS" !!!!" Good thing I didn't step in it... but Snoopy tasted it just to be sure...
ARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH, not that !!! No need to Google THIS one... I KNOW what rabbits eat.... and I'm not willing to share my veggies with YOU, Bugsy, me boy !!!!
Now.... let's recap a minute.... slugs, ants, too much rain, too little sun, mosquitoes, ticks, Bambi, Alvin, Theodore, Simon (or Chip 'n Dale), Kermit, Heckle and Jeckle (the birds), kamikaze killer bees, Charlotte and her girls..... AND Bugs Bunny... or maybe it's Thumper... greaaaaaaaat, Bambi must still be in the area... maybe she liked my "junk" after all...
Anyway, so now I'm wondering why on earth I chose this "hobby" of mine.... especially after being told by the landlord that former tenants never had any luck growing anything... although HE should talk... I've seen HIS garden !!! (cough, cough)... Although, if I hadn't, I would have much less to blog about.... YEAH RIGHT !!!!
So, head hung low in discouragement (and to NOT be "blown up" by any remaining land mines), I continued my wave to "secure" the yard ... when out of my peripheral vision I saw it... THAT WASCALLY WABBIT was watching me... nose twitching... I think he was chuckling.... "Come here boy, daddy needs a new pair of slippers !!!".... I guess he DIDN'T make a wrong turn at Albuquerque .....
Needless to say, my "cordial invitation" caused him to high tail it... but, he'll be back - they always return to the scene of the "crime".... and when HE does.... "Swowy I'll turn..... inch by inch.... step by step"..........

I too was tending my garden the other day and decided to move some of the watermelon vines over and low and behold a 4 foot rat snake was there. Needless to say I almost made a land mine of my own right there on the spot. Anyways I love your blog!
